1cc Syringes – We don’t offer express shipping, so for clients that need 1cc syringes quicker than we can supply them, try Amazon.

Clean Cleaning Products

In the process of detoxing your environment to improve both you and your pet’s health, we often get requests for cleaning product suggestions that are safer to use than the regular commercial products. Here are a few that our staff have used and recommend. Always read the ingredients before using!

DIY Cleaner – I actually like to use dilute vinegar (white is ok), with some essential oils like thyme and lemon. For something a bit more sudsy, I’ll add some Dr Bronner’s Pure-Castille soap. This can also be used without the vinegar.  The vinegar helps in bathrooms with soap scum.

Seventh Generation – For commercial products, seventh generation products are pretty good.

Dr. Bronners – I like their pure-castile soap, but they do make other good products.

Mrs. Meyers – The Clean Day brand uses olive oil with essential oils, etc.

Norwex – I like the Norwex sponges, mops, and microfiber cloths. They aren’t cheap. You have to get those from a Norwex dealer. We have several in our town and I am sure they are all over. The densely woven, superfine Norwex Microfiber physically removes up to 99% of bacteria from a surface using only water when following proper care and use instructions. The EnviroCloth is the true all-purpose microfiber cloth you can’t do without. They also contain silver nanoparticles that are said to inhibit the growth of microbes.

Eco 88 – For stains and smells. Nothing gets out pee or bile stains and eliminates odors quite like it. Their fabric deodorizer is nice and safe for pets, unlike Febreze.

Absolutely Clean  – Safe enough even to use directly on your pup who might have rolled in something. It also makes for a terrific carpet cleaner in a machine. We used to use Eco 88 first. Let it dry. Then Absolutely Clean. Carpet looked great and had no odors.

Aroma Paws –  Pet shampoos. I’ve tried some that were even better ingredients but they left all of my guys fur (all different types of fur) kinda dull and “flat.” Aroma Paws has some great combos and a terrific unscented for sensitive skin. Karen’s in the business so may know of an even better one, but this has been my go-to for years. The honeysuckle one is soooo nice.

Doterra – I use a lot of essential oil products from Doterra for cleaning, air freshening, healing, etc., and On Guard is by far the favorite. It’s anti-bacterial and anti-viral, so great for disinfecting or if there’s illness. We heavily diluted it with FCO and got rid of ringworm on a kitten AND it’s human.

Earth Breeze – Maybe not skewed toward pets, but I use Earth Breeze laundry sheets and their dishwasher “soap”. Both products are better for the environment and eliminate plastic. They also do a great job of cleaning. I use wool dryer balls for scent (drops of essential oils on them) and static

EnduraPet – Ear cleaner for pets. Very gentle and non-irritating using essential oils. Not effective for serious infection or yeast (K9 Ear Solutions from Liquid Health is great for those, uses gentian so it can stain but is effective and doesn’t hurt

Treats

The same principles we use for recommending an ideal diet for your pets also apply to choosing treats. The ‘treats’ are essentially animal products that may not be used as main dietary ingredients.

All animal products have nutritional value, and we further honor the animals that are sacrificed for food by using every part of them.

As with any pet product, it is extremely important to read labels and full ingredient lists.  Here are the things to absolutely avoid:

1. Synthetic nutrients – These often read like vitamins and minerals, but also read as a chemical name (don’t give you pets anything that you cannot pronounce!)

2. Processed carbohydrates – These are present in any ‘biscuit’ or ‘baked’ treats and include flour, any grain or starch, potato, pea or other vegetable protein.

3. Rawhide – This is the actual skin of the cow.  We do NOT recommend it because it is very hard to digest and can cause intestinal blockages

4. Added flavors/colors – These are usually re-purposed industry waste and potentially very toxic

5. Inhumane sourcing – Look for products from producers that use only pasture-raised and ethically sourced animals.  Companies that use these products are proud of it and will likely advertise as such.  Avoid any companies that use factory-farmed or rendered animal products.

Here are some examples of the treats we recommend:

1. Training or quick-bites

 · Freeze-dried organs or jerky

 · Dried fish (many cats love this one)

2.
Chewing and cleaning teeth

Dried products (look carefully at these for added ingredients as listed above)

· Trachea

· Bully sticks

· Tendons

Raw products

· Poultry necks/backs/wings or feet

· Beef or bison patella

· Beef neck bones

· Rib bones

· Cow or pig ear (the skin on the ear is thinner that the other hide and is easier to digest)

This list is not comprehensive by any means as any animal product can make an excellent nutritious treat. Try lots of different types to determine your pet’s favorites.

Below are some companies that we recommend for sourcing these treats.  **Remember that you will need to be diligent in continuing to read labels and check sourcing as companies will sometimes change ingredients or sourcing to save on cost**
