Dr. Judy Jasek

Veterinarian

Dr Judy Jasek received her formal education at Colorado State University, including a bachelor’s degree in Zoology in 1984, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1988.  Following graduation, she started her career in a rural, mixed-animal practice in Pocatello, ID. She then relocated to the Salt Lake City, UT area before returning to Denver, CO in 2001. She purchased the Belleview Animal clinic in Englewood in 2003 and began her journey into a more integrative approach to practice. Before selling this clinic in 2015, she learned the power in supporting the natural healing ability of the body and began a new practice philosophy.

Dr Judy resumed practice in 2019, using her 30+ years in practice, she has developed a unique whole-body approach to both treating and preventing disease.  She looks at each pet as an individual, and will teach you the best way to support the natural healing ability of the body with proper nutrition, herbs, supplements and other natural treatment options.

Dr Judy lives a holistic lifestyle herself, along with her husband, Chris and her personal pets and teachers, Wylie and C-Jay – two Chihuahuas who are always in her shadow. In her personal time, she has found that spending time in nature is both inspiring and rejuvenating. She loves to spend time hiking, snowshoeing, and camping. At home she enjoys reading, learning, meditating, running and practicing yoga.

Tess

Assistant

Happy 2021 to all of Dr. Judy’s valued clients!

She thought it was time we pulled back the curtain (ala Wizard of Oz!) to let you know a bit about the person you’ve been so graciously interacting with for your pets.

I’m Tess, originally from the NW Suburbs of Chicago, but I’ve lived here in Colorado for over 30 years now, so hoping I’ve achieved honorary “native” status. (although Chicago Pizza rules! Lol)

I was hugely into human nutrition when I was younger, but when I lost my first malamute/shepherd to osteosarcoma, I began a journey into why a beautifully healthy dog would develop such an awful disease, and thus began the obsession to create the healthiest lifestyle and diet for my pups!

I’ve been super fortunate along the way to have learned from some amazing vets and nutritionists, along with my own “kids” willing to let me guinea pig them with what I’ve learned, and ultimately I’ve landed here, with Dr. Judy practicing true holistic medicine, which is an honor for me!

The obligatory, what I like to do in my time off: HIKE with my guy and my kids (as is evident by the pic). I’m so lucky to live in the mountains, so it’s a daily lifestyle practice for me with longer excursions in my free time to the backcountry…and ok, lest you think me TOO health-driven, a glass of wine with a fire in the evening as my “reward!”

Passion other than animal nutrition: HUMMINGBIRDS! I’m obsessed with the little creatures and a slave to them April through September lol. Last year I went through more than 180# of sugar!!

I’m incredibly blessed and so grateful to all of you for your kindness and for those of you who have been with Dr. Judy for a long time, thank you so much for your acceptance of my role in facilitating conversations and appointments for you!

It’s just so great to be able to be a part of creating the healthiest paws for your fur babies and wishing you all the very best in this New Year!

Sincerely, Tess

BECKY

Veterinary Nurse

Becky has always had a huge passion for helping animals, which led to her receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2018. She moved from the suburbs of Massachusetts to Denver in April 2020 and quickly fell in love with all of what the state of Colorado has to offer.

After working in conventional veterinary medicine for a couple of years, in oncology, emergency, and internal medicine, she decided to seek a different branch of her career that better suited her values, and ended up finding Dr. Judy and her incredible practice! Becky strongly believes in using holistic medicine because it treats and prevents disease at the cause instead of using conventional medications and treatments to quickly mask symptoms. She believes that with the right energy, commitment and time from a patient’s veterinary staff, the strongest form of care can produce the best quality of life.

In her free time, Becky loves to draw and paint animals and landscapes, she reads, hikes, bikes, practices yoga and meditation, and spends time with friends. She is excited to continue to explore the state this year and plans on going on many camping trips as well.

She can’t wait to meet your pets and give them lots of treats and calm, positive energy!

Astrid

Veterinary Assistant

Astrid has had a lifelong love affair with healing and now focuses on supporting others in their own healing ability.

She joins us with over a decade of executive assistant roles, spanning across the globe, which have provided the perfect diverse playground for cultivating her high emotional intelligence.

She began to apply natural and alternative modalities of health and healing that she had previously only used for herself, to her soul dog, after witnessing her once healthy pup suffer the consequences of vaccine injury and kibble.

Although it was a frustrating journey, it was such a gift and catalyst for unmasking what true healing and optimal health really meant.

9 years later, she loves to see the world through these eyes, sharing with others her experiences.

At Animal Healing Arts, she anchors her gifts and multi-dimensional experiences into coherence with our client’s needs and sensitivities, pursuing true healing and optimal health.

You can find her communing with nature when she’s not in the clinic or answering patient emails.

Constantly learning, she is never without a book and her dog teacher close by.

Chris

Practice Manager

Dr. Judy’s husband and all-around support guy, Chris has always been in the background providing whatever handyman and computer systems support the practice required. In 2021 he left his corporate job to help manage the ever growing and evolving Animal Healing Arts clinic on a full time basis.

To many of our patients he is known simply as “the-guy-in-the-sky”, and you may occasionally catch a glimpse of him ascending/descending the stairs to/from his upstairs office, or working on a project in the garage. He is our resident ozone equipment expert who designed our rental kits, assists clients in purchasing their own units for home use, and provides all of the personalized equipment training to our clients. He is also the inventor of the world’s first (as far as we know) CBD vaporizer designed specifically for treating pets with lung carcinomas.

Chris is thrilled to be using his various skills to the benefit of all creatures great and small, pets and humans alike. At home he enjoys problem solving, organizing, engineering, and inventing. For leisure, he prefers to be somewhere off-grid: hiking, snowshoeing, camping, and exploring.
