AppointmentDr. Judy Jasek
Veterinarian
Dr Judy received her formal education at Colorado State University, including a bachelor’s degree in Zoology, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1988. After practicing in Idaho and Utah, she returned to Colorado in 2001 and purchased a conventional clinic, which she transformed into an integrative medicine practice. She sold this practice in 2015, and after a welcomed break, she resumed practicing on a smaller scale and now uses telemedicine to help pets around the world.
Using the knowledge gained in her 35 years of practice experience, Dr. Judy has developed a unique, whole-body approach to healing that supports the inherent ability of the body to remain healthy. She considers all of the pet’s life circumstances and then supports the innate healing ability of the body with species-appropriate nutrition, whole-food supplementation, detoxification, and eliminating the underlying causes of disease.
She does not believe in a magic-bullet approach, whether an herb or a pharmaceutical. The body is a biological system that needs support in many different areas to achieve optimal health. She believes that health is the body’s natural state, and her goal is to help her patients regain optimal health and live long and vibrant lives.
Through her interest in specific treatment modalities, such as ozone and mistletoe, Dr Judy began attracting cancer patients looking for alternatives to conventional treatments. This is now one of her specialties, and she continues searching for new ways to treat and prevent cancer in pets.
In May of 2023, Dr Judy and her husband, Chris, relocated from Colorado to Tennessee to begin their dream of starting a rural homestead. In a sense, this was a return to their roots as both were raised in rural settings and never felt that the city was a good fit. She has found that spending time working on the land and caring for her animals is equally as rewarding as it is challenging.
Her newest sidekick is Rex, a German Shepard puppy that never ceases to elicit a smile from humans, even if he is being a bit naughty. She enjoys the new challenge of puppy training and building a relationship with an awesome breed.

Happy 2021 to all of Dr. Judy’s valued clients!
She thought it was time we pulled back the curtain (ala Wizard of Oz!) to let you know a bit about the person you’ve been so graciously interacting with for your pets.
I’m Tess, originally from the NW Suburbs of Chicago, but I’ve lived here in Colorado for over 30 years now, so hoping I’ve achieved honorary “native” status. (although Chicago Pizza rules! Lol)
I was hugely into human nutrition when I was younger, but when I lost my first malamute/shepherd to osteosarcoma, I began a journey into why a beautifully healthy dog would develop such an awful disease, and thus began the obsession to create the healthiest lifestyle and diet for my pups!
I’ve been super fortunate along the way to have learned from some amazing vets and nutritionists, along with my own “kids” willing to let me guinea pig them with what I’ve learned, and ultimately I’ve landed here, with Dr. Judy practicing true holistic medicine, which is an honor for me!
The obligatory, what I like to do in my time off: HIKE with my guy and my kids (as is evident by the pic). I’m so lucky to live in the mountains, so it’s a daily lifestyle practice for me with longer excursions in my free time to the backcountry…and ok, lest you think me TOO health-driven, a glass of wine with a fire in the evening as my “reward!”
Passion other than animal nutrition: HUMMINGBIRDS! I’m obsessed with the little creatures and a slave to them April through September lol. Last year I went through more than 180# of sugar!!
I’m incredibly blessed and so grateful to all of you for your kindness and for those of you who have been with Dr. Judy for a long time, thank you so much for your acceptance of my role in facilitating conversations and appointments for you!
It’s just so great to be able to be a part of creating the healthiest paws for your fur babies and wishing you all the very best in this New Year!
Sincerely, Tess

I am a Colorado native and love the sunshine! In my free time I enjoy running, yoga, reading, spending time with family/ friends, chai tea, and traveling when possible. I have my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education and completed my Master’s degree in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education at Regis University. I’ve taught preschool through first grade for the last 10 years.
My love of animals started when I was young and adopted my first cat at age 4. I am currently a dog mom to my Shar-pei/ Golden girl Bella. I’m also a cat mom to Bebé, who I adopted in Bolivia during a semester abroad. I lost my last dog to hemangiosarcoma, which has greatly influenced how I approach caring for my animals and the veterinary care that I seek out. I have a passion for holistic medicine for both animals and people. AHA brings together both my love of animals and my passion for holistic medicine. Now I’m excited to partner with the AHA team in serving our valued clients.
KAREN
Nurse
Born and raised in upstate NY, my journey into the world of animal care has been a lifelong passion and I have loved animals for as long as I can remember.
I attended Mercy College where I obtained my Veterinary Technician license. I am also a holistic pet stylist certified with the International Society of Canine Cosmotology, and have a certification in pet food nutrition. My background also includes human nutrition, where I owned a human health food store for several years. Combining my love for animals and holistic well-being, I currently own a holistic pet grooming salon and a health food store for pets.
At my core is a deep-seated passion for guiding pet parents towards informed decisions in nutrition, helping their pets live a long and healthy life. Continuing learning is a cornerstone of my professional journey, and I actively pursue education through classes, seminars, and conferences focused on holistic pet health and nutrition.
I am thrilled to be a part of Animal Healing Arts, and look forward to contributing to the well-being of pets and fostering connections with their owners.
I live on a farm in Tennessee with my husband, 4 dogs, 3 cats, 2 horses, 2 geckos, and a rowdy Cockatoo. I enjoy gardening, painting, cooking, and reading.
Chris
Practice Manager
Dr. Judy’s husband and all-around support guy, Chris, had always provided business support in the background. In 2021 he left his corporate job behind to help manage the ever-evolving Animal Healing Arts practice on a full-time basis.
He is our resident ozone equipment expert who designed our rental kits, assists clients in purchasing their own units for home use, and provides equipment training. He is also the inventor of the world’s first (as far as we know) CBD vaporizer designed specifically for treating pets with lung carcinomas.
Chris is thrilled to be using his various skills to the benefit of all creatures, great and small, pets and humans alike. At home, he enjoys problem-solving, organizing, engineering, and inventing, and the rural homestead certainly provides plenty of opportunities for that. For leisure, he prefers to be somewhere off-grid: hiking, camping, and exploring.
